What's the story behind this jewel?B TYPE’s founder Arianna Callegari explains her inspiration: ” I kept looking at all the jewels that were in the market and I saw hearts, keys, stars, … that don’t represent me. I wanted to design a new concept of jewel. I thought that we live every day with passion, without realizing that life flows through our veins like our blood. YOU ARE WHAT YOU BLEED is more than a headline, it’s the concept that inspires the jewelry collection B TYPE and expresses its philosophy, it reminds us that life flows through our veins like our passions. Blood links, identify us and show the essence of our lives.

How does everything start?In 2012 I started to develop the concept, pendant, graphics, packaging, etc. After several prototypes and tests, the B TYPE concept came to life in 2013 with the support of my friends and my family. I designed a collection of silver drop shaped pendants, each engraved with one of the 4 different bloods types (0, A, B, AB) in their positive and negative subtypes. I think blood type is one of the “codes” that identifies us and represents our interior beauty, a profound beauty that reflects the mystery of life. The packaging recalls the transparent blood bags, this is to increase awareness about the importance of knowing our blood type and to donate blood whenever it is possible. Donate blood is a gift, which can represent life for someone else who needs it.”

What's the inspiration for new collections?Jewels like our drop pendant embedded with different BLOOD TYPEs, have become staples of B TYPE’s collections and a continuous source of inspiration. The current collection was presented in Dubai on 2013 October 10, for the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience and will be followed by new fresh, stylish and high quality lines.
